South Texas (Way South) Pow Wow

Nineteen years ago our family decided to open our pow wows to the public. Before then we would just gather at our farm and invite a few dancing friends and we would dance under the street lamp that lit our front yard. It was exciting, though, as we decided to let the public in the secret as to what some Indians do to celebrate. So, the South Texas (Way South) Pow wow has now been open free to the public for nineteen years. It also serves as an educational program that helps our community understand what it means to be Indian; but more importantly, what it means to be Lipan Apache. Our nineteenth annual pow wow this past October was a great success with about 105 dancers and about three thousand spectators. We had ten vendors set up their booths, with most of them taking a double booth.

We are now planning for our Spring Pow Wow. We call it the Nde Daa Pow Wow which means The People Spring Pow wow. This is also where we crown our Princess. At this time we are trying to find a more affordable place to have it in, but it is scheduled for March 14, 2009. For more information go to
Pow Wow News.

The pow wows are free to the public. We depend on money making projects to raise the funds for the pow wows. If you would like to help, you can send your donation to:
