Distinguished Members of the
Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas
In order to recognize distinguished or accomplished Lipan Apaches,
and/or members of the Lipan Apache Tribe of TX, A section of the
Lipan Apache Tribe of TX Museum and Culture Center has been set
aside in their Honor. The Lipan Apache Tribe of TX General Council
will review any nominations and will vote to accept and Honor nominees
as Distinguished Members of the Lipan Apache Tribe of TX. Once accepted
an 8” x10” Photo and a small Plaque of the Honoree’s Bio. will be on
display. The number of Honorees is dependent on the nominees accepted
by the General Council for this Honor. Any nominee not accepted will
stay on file for later consideration and additions to nominees’ files
will be allowed at any time. Requests of re-consideration of a nominee
are always welcomed. (Priority will be given to Deceased Lipan Apaches)
Nominations for honoring Distinguished Members of the Lipan Apache Tribe of
TX can be made by any Lipan Apache Descendent. (Please Note: Lipan Chiefs
need not be nominated, the Museum and Culture Center already has a separate
exhibit Honoring Lipan Chiefs)
(For Deceased) Nominations should include any and/or all
of the following 4 requirements (list as many as apply)
(For Living) Nominees Must be Members of the Lipan
Apache Tribe of TX, and MUST include an item or items from Requirement
#1 for consideration, and also MUST include an item or items of any or
all of the other 3 requirements.

1) | Works done for the Lipan people with specifics (details) by nominee, examples: |
| | a) | Keeper and has shared Stories of Lipan People,
(Copies are to be placed in Lipan Apache Tribe of
TX Research Center.) |
| | b) | Keeper and performer of Lipan ceremonies (Only Lipan Ceremonies
will be considered. All ceremonies must, and will be, verified
as traditional Lipan and using Traditional Lipan methods.)

*(Due to the Sacredness of our Ceremonies, Any and All
Ceremonies and their Details will not be disclosed nor will they be made
available to the general public. Any and All Ceremonies and their Details
will be kept under Lock and Key at the Lipan Apache Tribe of TX Culture
Center and Keys/Combinations will be kept only by Lipan Apache Tribe of
TX Council Members. Documents on Ceremonies will only be made available
for review to Members of the Lipan Apache Tribe of TX. Only originals
will be kept and NO COPIES will be made.)
