Enrollment Closing & ID Cards
from the General Council
|
Dear Tribal Members:
On Enrollment Closing
As of October 15, 2011, enrollment has been closed for new families.
This was done for two reasons. First of all, the heavy demands of
paperwork that needs to be filed along with a long list of tribal
ID cards that still need to be done. But the second and main
reason was that we need to develop a roll base of the families
we now have. This is the next step toward Federal Recognition.
This will take some time to make sure everyone has all the paperwork
in their files and to make sure their tribal ID numbers are not repeats.
So what does this mean to the tribal members? This means that
if you have a direct blood relative that desires to join the
tribe, he or she can still join. For example, your grandparents,
parents, aunts, uncles, children, grandchildren, and cousins can
still join the tribe as long as they can show that they are your
blood relative. There has been a lot of questions concerning
this so I hope this clears up some of your concerns.
If you qualify to apply for membership Go to
Membership Enrollment instructions.
On Membership IDs
I also want to let you know that I now have ten tribal ID
applications from 2010 to go. After these ten are done, all
of 2010 will be complete. As far as 2011 is concerned, I am
halfway through May of 2011. So if you sent me your application
between January and April of 2011 and you have not gotten
your tribal ID card, it is lost and I never got it. Sorry
for the inconvenience but you will have to resend everything.
Only Members who have already been accepted into the Tribe with an ID number may apply for the Tribal ID Card.
To apply for a Tribal ID card Go to Tribal ID Application Form
for instructions.
God bless and thank you for your support and your membership.
We are not only a tribe, but a family with a common blood,
the Lipan Apache blood that runs through our veins.
