Steps needed to be considered for certification
of membership in the Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas.

1) |
Submit application.
You must apply first and be accepted before a card and certificate
can be issued. You, as the applicant, are responsible for
completing the necessary forms and turning in a complete genealogy
that factually purports you to be of Lipan Apache descent.

2) |
If you have applied,
please e-mail applications@lipanapache.org with your full name
and date of application for status of your application. Please allow
at least 6 weeks after applying before contacting the Tribe. For a
family's status, please include the full names of all family members.
Once approved, you will be noticed via e-mail of all the requisite
information to receive the Tribal ID card and Certificate.

3) |
If you have applied and a deficiency in verifying your genealogy is discovered, you will be
notified of the deficiency and the additional requirements needed.

4) |
If you have applied and your application has been denied,
you will be noticed of the appeal process in accordance with the
Tribal by laws.
|
|
5) |
If your application has been approved, you will be issued
a Tribal Certificate and receive notice of the requisite steps
to secure your Tribal ID card and certificate as well as the
benefits associated with being a Tribal member. (Newsletter,
education grant applications when these grants are available,
and any other privilege of membership as they become available)

Steps and information toward acquiring a Tribal ID card and certificate are:

These steps include:

a. |
Submitting personal data such as height,
weight, hair and eye color, and address. |
|
b. |
a digital color photo of the member (Head & Shoulder shot), |
|
c. |
a digital photo of the member's signature on white photo paper.
The signature must be done using a BLACK THICK POINT sharpie
in order for the ID software to accept and recognize the signature.
Those members too young to sign must have their parent or guardian
print the member's name using the black sharpie. |

2) | Each and every card requested
must have the above items completed and a $10.00 check made payable to the
Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas. No cards and/or certificates will be issued
without proper funds. For example, if a family is eligible to receive four
cards and has requested four cards, then a check for forty dollars must accompany
all of the requested information.

3) | You can not be a member of the
Lipan Apache Tribe and be a card holder of any other nation. There will a
box on the personal data form that will certify that the Lipan Apache Tribe
of Texas is the only American Indian Nation in which you are a card holder.
No cards will be issued to any one wishing any form of dual membership in
the Lipan Apache Tribe and any other American Indian Nation. No application
will be processed without this box checked "No".

4) | Duplicate cards and/or certificates
will be issued for a $15.00 fee to replace lost cards and/or certificates.
|
|
5) | At this time, the Lipan Apache Tribe
of Texas is not a Federally or State acknowledged
Nation. We are a Texas based corporation in compliance with I.R.S. code 501(c)3 as a
American Indian Organization. Our by laws can be found on this same web site.
