U.S. Army
Airborne Ranger, "Sua Sponte," 1977-1987
|
My name is Carlos Vela, born in San Juan, Texas, and raised in California.
I am a member of the Lipan Apache Tribe and served in the U.S. Army from 1977-1987. I am proud to have served my
country as an Infantryman, Airborne Ranger ( Sua Sponte, Which means, "Of My Own Accord" ).
Though I have had the privledge of my many travels while serving, I have seen the world differently
which made me even more proud to have been part of those who are wanting peace and
help those who want it as well.
I thank all who are serving our country today and know that my spirit will be with all of you.
